Name of Tenant Group: Blackwood Court Tenants Association

Blackwood Court Tenants Association will represent the tenants of Blackwood Court, Dundee, positively promote equal opportunities and prohibit discrimination or harassment. We will do this by giving every eligible tenant (see Blackwood Court Tenants Association Constitution) of Blackwood Court the opportunity to become members of the Association and to participate fully and equally in the Association's business and activities (including becoming members of the Executive Committee) regardless of race, gender, sexuality, age (over 16), disability and religion. Membership shall be open automatically to tenants over the age of 16 irrespective of the above who reside or come to reside at Blackwood Court (see restrictions regarding staff in our constitution). We will keep tenant members of the Association (and any other interested party upon request) informed of the Association's progress by holding open meetings at least four times a year plus an AGM where every tenant will have the right to speak at and vote. Minutes, Agendas and any other papers related to the business (including financial accounts) of the Association will be sent to all tenants(and any other interested party upon request) in advance of any meeting and as appropriate when disseminating information or upon request by any Association member/tenant. Any decisions, which the Blackwood Court Tenants Association make will be made by a majority vote or as defined in our written constitution. Any eligible new tenant who comes to reside at Blackwood Court will be invited to join the Association at his/her own discretion. Any information we hold regarding our membership shall be with due consideration (and will not contravene) the Data Protection Act 1998.
